Walkers marketing team wins international award

Cayman has long been known for the quality of its banking and legal services but the marketing team of Walkers has now put Cayman on the map for the quality of its legal marketing as well.

 

 

Walkers' recently won the PR News "Legal PR Awards" for its 2006 marketing and communications campaign and is now competing against top law firms from around the globe for four more awards.
Walkers has been short-listed for top honours in four categories of the prestigious Legal Marketing Association (LMA) Awards.
"These achievements are unprecedented for a Cayman Islands law firm and show that not only are Cayman's attorneys among the best but so too are its legal support services, including marketing," said Walkers' Director of Marketing and PR, Sheree Harrison.
"We anticipated that we would do well in these awards but this level of success is truly a thrill."
Mark Lewis, Walkers' partner responsible for the firm's marketing functions, said he is particularly proud that Walkers' marketing department is comprised entirely of Caymanians.
"There is a very talented and ambitious pool of Caymanians here who are looking for opportunities to develop their skills and advance their careers," Mr Lewis said.
"Walkers is an excellent example of a firm that actively recruits talented Caymanians and fosters their professional development."
Last year's LMA Awards winners included some of the world's most prominent law firms including Cadwalader, Latham & Watkins, DLA Piper and Jones Day.
This year the LMA received 225 awards submissions and Walkers has been short-listed in the following categories: Annual Report, Announcement (Walkers Holiday Card), Exhibits/Novelty (Walkers Blue Iguana), Community Programmes (Walkers' "Change in the air Programme").
Winners will be announced at a dinner in Atlanta, Georgia on 22 March 2007.
"The support and active involvement from Mark, combined with the talent of the members of our Marketing Department, Cherryl Hydes, Sarah Broad, Kim Wood and Marvia Rankin have been the key to our success," Mrs Harrison said.
"We set out to create a brand that reflects Walkers' innovative approach to business and these awards are confirmation that we are achieving that goal." Mrs Harrison said.
"We are particularly excited about the quality of these competitions and the calibre of firms we are competing against, DLA Piper which was a winner in last year's LMA Awards, has 3,200 lawyers in 24 countries and is one of the world's leading law firms."
