Walkers is pleased to announce the appointment of David Collins as a Partner with the firm. Collins joins Walkers from Linklaters in London where he practiced in the Derivatives and Structured Products Group.
At Linklaters, Collins worked on a range of structured product transactions, including fund-linked products, index-linked notes, synthetic securitisations and credit-linked notes. He was also seconded to the structured credit desk at Bank of America, where he worked on a variety of OTC derivative products.
Joining Walkers as a Partner is something of a return for Collins, a Caymanian who trained with the firm and was a part of Walkers' Finance team between 2004 and 2006. "It has been fantastic to come back to this team at Walkers and to reconnect with the staff" Collins said. "Walkers has a highly regarded finance practice, and I'm delighted to be a part of the team."
"We are delighted to have secured David's appointment to bring him back to Walkers," said Global Managing Partner Grant Stein. "We have always expanded in order to meet the needs of our clients and we believe it is as vital as ever that we continue to have the right professionals in place to service their requirements." Collins holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Law (PgDL) with Commendation from The College of Law, London and went on to attain a Distinction on the Legal Practice Course. He also holds a BA degree in Accounting from the University of South Florida, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
