Representatives of the Cayman Islands Shipping Registry (CISR) will travel to Monaco on Wednesday to attend the prestigious annual Monaco Yacht Show (MYS).

The MYS will feature numerous examples of the world’s most luxurious and spectacular private yachts, many of which will be flying the Cayman maritime flag.

Sharing booth space with the CISR team will be representatives of the Cayman Islands Civil Aviation Authority, in an initiative to attract aircraft registrations. Cayman is a popular register of choice for aircraft as well as marine vessels.

MACI’s CEO Joel Walton, will head the delegation, which will include Nancylee Bodden, Manager of Business Development and Client Relationships, both from the MACI George Town headquarters.

“The Cayman Islands Shipping Registry has strategically positioned itself on a global basis to ensure 24/7 coverage of the needs of its worldwide clients in the maritime industry,” Mr Walton said.

“As a result of our valued client services and the maintenance of long-term relationships, we have become a pre-eminent flag of choice. For this reason, it is imperative that we attend exhibitions such as the Monaco Yacht Show to be able to personally visit so many of our clients who will be in attendance and to further promote the prestigious Red Ensign of the Cayman Islands.”

They will be joined in Monaco by personnel from other CISR locations including the European Regional Office in Southampton in the UK; Greg Evans, Divisional Director of Safety Survey and Inspection; Peter Simpson, Senior Surveyor of Yachts; Phil Noad, Lead Surveyor, UK; and Richie Blake, Surveyor, UK. Joining them from London will be Brian Lodge, Assistant Registrar of Shipping. And in Monaco they will team up with Irene Gut, who manages CISR’s Cannes (France) office.

Following on the success of last year’s event, a “Mojitos at the Booth” party will be hosted, in conjunction with co-hosts, the law firms of Appleby and Campbells, on Thursday, 25 September from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Existing and prospective clients and other industry partners have been invited to the event.

The CISR, in order to best serve its worldwide client base, has been undergoing significant global expansion over the last several years, and now has offices/representatives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida; the European Regional Office in Southampton, and a representative in London. This year saw the opening of the Mediterranean office in Cannes, and there is CISR representation in Athens, Greece. Additionally, there are three CISR Asian representatives, located in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore.

The CISR, a division of the Maritime Authority of the Cayman Islands (MACI), is the number one leader in the registration of mega-yachts.
