Established 15 months ago, the firm’s Cayman Island practice has expanded rapidly, according to the firm’s managing partner, Richard A. Peters, who says the recent additions to the partnership “strengthen” three of the firm’s practice areas: litigation, shipping and funds.
Ms Dobbyn specialises in cross-border insolvency and restructuring work including fraud, receiverships, asset tracing and corporate recovery. Her recent work includes serving as acting director of the Dynamic Decisions group of funds and for the liquidators of two Rye feeder funds and Saad Financial Investments Ltd in the Cayman Islands.
Mr Law advises clients including fund managers, administrators and investors on establishing, operating and participating in offshore fund structures. His experience lies in advising clients in respect to structured finance and more general financing transactions including acting as offshore counsel to some major institutional clients.
Also promoted to partner was Johann E Henry in the firm’s British Virgin Islands office who leads the BVI-based international shipping practice.
A 50-year-old law firm, Harneys has offices in the BVI, Cayman Islands, Cyprus, Hong Kong and London.
