Appleby recently appointed Richard McMillan as managing director of Appleby Trust Ltd. Mr. McMillan has over 25 years of extensive trust, corporate, investment management and business experience in the fiduciary and administration sector.

Prior to joining Appleby Trust, he was the Director of Trust Services and a Board Director at CIBC Bank and Trust Company (Cayman) Limited in George Town.
During his 19 years CIBC, Mr. McMillan had responsibility for the provision of trust, corporate, fund administration, directorship services and investment services to banks, funds and companies. He also had responsibility for developing new business, risk management and revenue generation.
Mr. McMillan said of his appointment, “I have been in the Cayman Islands financial services sector for almost 20 years and I am delighted to have this opportunity, particularly with the recent launch of Appleby’s Directorship Services.”
He earned the Chartered Institute of Bankers (UK) Trustee Diploma in 1990, and became a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners in 1999.
In addition Mr. McMillan is a former Director of Cayman Finance, previously known as the Cayman Islands Financial Services Association.
