International Engineers, an affiliate of the international firm Halcrow Yolles, held a reception at Caribbean Club last week to celebrate the opening of its new office at Governors Square.

The firm was incorporated here in Cayman about six months ago and its recent work in Cayman includes Caribbean Club, HSBC House, Governors Square, Residences at Beach Bay, Cayman Falls, and the Grand Caymanian Resort Phase II.
Company principal Ian Washbrook said the firm's portfolio of projects grows daily.
"Our office in Grand Cayman was opened largely in response to our clients' desire that we provide a full range of consulting engineering services," he said. "We saw a number of great opportunities in various local markets, and have now responded by both establishing a permanent presence and building a dynamic team locally."
In addition to Mr. Washbrook, the Grand Cayman team includes company Director and Office Manager Lisa Uggeri and project engineer Jesse Longworth.
"We are expecting this number to grow over the short term as we expand our service offering," said Mr. Washbrook.
Paul Zucchi, a director of International Engineers and a partner with Halcrow Yolles, said the latter began working on Grand Cayman shortly after Hurricane Ivan.
"The building we're in tonight, Caribbean Club, was our first project here," he said. "And now we are excited to be affiliated with International Engineers. We see this collaboration as a terrific opportunity to provide our clients, both here and elsewhere in the Caribbean, with a more comprehensive level of services."
Mr. Washbrook said the new International Engineer's office at Governors Square reinforced the firm's commitment to the islands and its desire to contribute to their economic strength and vitality.
"We are pleased to be here in Grand Cayman and look forward to any opportunities that come up to strengthen our role as a corporate partner in the community," he said.
