Dutch efforts to clamp down on tax dodging booked further success on Wednesday with the signing of an agreement to exchange financial information with the Cayman islands, Nos tv said.
The deal will make it harder for Dutch nationals to use Cayman banks to dodge tax or launder money, Nos said.
At the end of June, junior tax minister Jan Kees de Jager signed a similar deal with Switzerland. Earlier deals were reached with Belgium and Luxembourg, Bermuda, Guernsey and Jersey.
Meanwhile, German customs officials have arrested a Dutch national crossing the border from Switzerland in Germany with €400,000 in cash. He is suspected of making a similar crossing several days ago, news agency ANP said.
