The Tax Information Exchange Agreement (TIEA) between the Cayman Islands Government and the States of Guernsey was signed on 29 July, following the conclusion of negotiations.
Signing on behalf of their respective jurisdictions were the Hon. McKeeva Bush, OBE, JP; and Guernsey’s Chief Minister Lyndon Trott. The TIEA now must be ratified by the Cayman Islands and Guernsey; once this process is complete and the parties have notified each other, the TIEA will come into force.
The Cayman Islands has TIEAs in place with 25 countries, all of which can be read on www.tia.gov.ky under FAQs. Negotiations have been completed with another seven jurisdictions.
