Cayman Islands Banker's Association

The Cayman Islands Bankers' Association held its 28th Annual General Meeting on March 15, 2007.  The AGM was conducted by retiring President Eduardo D'Angelo P. Silva who presented to members in attendance a report of the Association's activities in the last year, which included a successful Conference and the commission of the first Economic Impact Study of the Banking Industry in the Cayman Islands.

The AGM elected a new Executive Committee comprising:
President:       Mr. Conor O'Dea of Butterfield Bank (Cayman) Limited
Vice President:   Mr. David Walker of Caledonian Bank and Trust Limited
Treasurer:        Mr. James O'Neill of Bank Austria Cayman Island Ltd.
Additional Members of Executive Committee elected were:
Ms. Helena Soares Carneiro of BCP Bank & Trust Company Ltd.
Mr. Stuart Dack of Cayman National Bank
Mr. Jean-Claude Emard of Deutsche Bank (Cayman) Limited
Mr. Ben Gillooly of CIBC Bank & Trust Company (Cayman) Limited
Mr. Gonzalo Jalles of HSBC Financial Services (Cayman) Limited
Mr. Gil Plamondon of Royal Bank of Canada
Mr. Alex Wood of Republic Bank Trinidad & Tobago Ltd

The Cayman Islands Bankers' Association was founded in 1979 to represent the financial institutions licensed under the Banks and Trust Law to operate in the Cayman Islands. Besides advocating and representing its members at local and international level, it also provides training and education to the staff of its members.
