Offshore firm Appleby has promoted Sherice Arman to the position of Partner in its Cayman Islands’ office.
Sherice Arman joined Appleby in 2004 and practises in the Corporate and Commercial Practice Group.
She has over nine years of experience, specialising in banking and asset finance, corporate finance, syndicated loans, project finance, property finance, structured finance and general aspects of banking and finance law. The breadth of her expertise also extends to the areas of capital markets and bond issues, general corporate and mutual funds law, ship and aircraft registration.
Ms Arman advises on many international deals, including advising AEI on the restructuring of a number of energy projects acquired from Enron in its Chapter 11 proceedings including reorganisation of a number of joint venture vehicles. She also acts for BUE Marine Ltd, one of the leading marine vessel owners and operators in the world, providing support to the offshore oil and gas industry in relation to the registration and financing of its vessels registered in the Cayman Islands.
She is a graduate of the University of the West Indies where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Honours) in 1995 and a Bachelor of Laws Degree (Honours) in 1997. She also attended the Sir Hugh Wooding Law School where she obtained a Legal Education Certificate in 1999 and the University College London where she obtained her Masters in Law (Merit) specialising in Banking and Finance in 2004.
She is admitted to practice in the Cayman Islands, the British Virgin Islands and in Trinidad and Tobago.
