KPMG, Ogier and Consolidated Water Co. Ltd. teamed up this year to collect toys for the Department of Children and Family Services Christmas Toy Drive. Over CI$1,200 worth of gifts were generously donated by members of staff, from all three companies, with the focus being on the teenagers aged between 13 and 17.

Lynda Mitchell at the Department said “we receive many donations during the holiday season and we are most grateful, but unfortunately at times we do not get enough age appropriate gifts for the older children.” KPMG, Ogier and Consolidated Water Co. Ltd. were delighted to help fill the void. Gifts donated included vouchers for go-karting, cinema tickets; make up sets and sports equipment among others.

KPMG’s Partner, Jenny Frizzelle introduced the idea of combining efforts with Ogier and Consolidated Water to make more of an impact. Jenny says, “We are delighted to work along with our corporate colleagues to benefit the children of the Cayman Islands at this time of the year.  The input from the Department was invaluable in assisting us in focusing on the right age group.  Many thanks go out to all who assisted and donated from the three companies.”

Peter Cockhill, Managing Partner, Ogier said "We are delighted to work with KPMG and Consolidated Water to bring some holiday cheer to those less fortunate. We were aware of the amount of support offered to young children so our toy drive was successfully aimed at the teenage market. I am pleased with the response and am confident we can build on this year on year."

The Department of Children and Family services assisted approximately 6,266 people in the Cayman Islands with a variety of services between 1st January and 22nd December, 2010. Many of those are families with children. The Christmas Toy Drive is held annually by the Department.
