Ogier give new kitchen to NCVO Children's Centre

Thanks to staff donations, Ogier has raised CI$2,600 to benefit Miss Nadine's Pre-School.

The money was raised by the Ogier Dress Down Day programme where staff donate money to dress in less formal attire on a Friday.  Each week collections are made and at the end of the month the firm matches what the staff raise, doubling the amount of money that goes to charity.  The donation allowed the National Council of Voluntary Organisations to purchase a new industrial stove and sink for the kitchen of Miss Nadine's Pre-School in George Town.
Miss Nadine's Pre-School is an NCVO run facility that offers cost-assisted pre-schooling for the children of working parents and single-parent families.  As well as a care and education programme, the school also provides three meals a day for the children.  As Miss Nadine's is a non-profit organisation it is reliant on donations from the private sector as well as government funding in order to subsidise schooling costs and keep the fees low.  At present the school has over sixty students ranging from a few months old up to five years of age and operates five days a week.  The school charges $75 a week per student which includes breakfast, hot lunch and a snack.  In some cases, students at the school are referred by either the Department of Education or the Department of Children and Family Services and the fees are covered by these departments.
Janice Wilson, NCVO Chief Executive Officer, thanked Ogier for their donation and explained that the school is still in need of financial assistance, "We were in desperate need for new kitchen equipment.  We feed more than sixty children between our nursery and pre-school, three times a day and our old stove was small and inadequate.  The Department of Environment required us to upgrade our appliances and thanks to Ogier we are now able to comply with their request".
Last year, Ogier's donation to the NCVO assisted in giving the children in the Foster Home an opportunity to attend summer camps and stock up on much needed school supplies.  Ogier is proud to be able to continue supporting the NCVO and their conscientious work within the community.  Miss Nadine's Pre-School is one of their many community-based projects in Grand Cayman and Ogier is pleased to help in any way it can.
The NCVO is grateful for any contributions or fundraising support that the public may wish to make.  To make a donation to the NCVO:  please send to NCVO, P.O. Box 1140, Grand Cayman, KY1-1102 Cayman Islands, or email Janice Wilson, NCVO Chief Executive Officer at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
