Assignment of Ministerial responsibilities

His Excellency the Governor, Mr Bruce Dinwiddy, CMG, after consultation with the Hon Leader of Government Business, Mr D. Kurt Tibbetts, JP, is pleased to announce the following allocation of responsibilities between the five Ministers elected by the Legislative Assembly on 18th May as members of the Cabinet.  For practical reasons associated with the organisation of the Government Budget, the new Ministers will in each case initially, until the end of the financial year on 30th June 2005, take over the portfolios as they existed before the recent General Elections.

Hon D. Kurt Tibbetts, JP, Minister for Planning, Communications, District, Administration & Information Technology, to be re-designated from 1 July 2005 as Minister for District Administration, Planning, Agriculture & Housing. 
Hon Anthony S Eden, OBE, JP Minister for Health Services, Agriculture, Aviation & Works  to be re-designated from 1 July 2005 as Minister for Health and Human Services. 
Hon Alden McLaughlin, Minister for Education, Human Resources and Culture to be re-designated from 1 July 2005 as Minister for Education, Employment Relations, Youth, Sports & Culture 
Hon V Arden McLean, Minister for Community Services, Youth, Sports and Gender Affairs to be re-designated from 1 July 2005 as Minister for Communications, Works & Infrastructure 
Hon Charles Clifford, JP, Minister for Tourism, Environment, Development & Commerce to be re-designated from 1 July 2005 as Minister for Tourism, Environment, Investment, & Commerce
